Blackberry Cobbler
ngredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 ¾ cups milk
- 1 stick butter
- 4 cups fresh blackberries if using frozen rinse and pat dry
- 4 tablespoons light brown sugar
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350. On the stovetop, add a stick of butter to a 12in dutch oven, and warm on low to melt butter.
- In a large bowl combine the sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
- Whisk in the milk until smooth. Pour the batter over the butter in the dutch oven.
- Add 3 cups of blackberries to the batter, and gently pat down into the batter. Then evenly top the batter with the remaining cup of blackberries.
- Bake for 50 minutes, then remove from the oven and sprinkle on the brown sugar. Continue to bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving to allow the cobbler to set up a bit.
