Cast Iron Beer Cheese
Ingredients
- 3 cup fresh shredded cheddar
- 8oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 tbsp fresh chopped chives
- 1 cup lager beer
- Salt and Cayenne Pepper to taste
- Toasted baguette slices/pretzels/etc for service
Directions (Campfire)
- In a large cast-iron skillet, add cheddar, cream cheese, garlic, chives, and beer and season with salt and cayenne. Cover with foil.
- Cook over campfire until melty, about 15 minutes.
Directions (Stovetop)
- In a large cast-iron skillet, add cheddar, cream cheese, garlic, chives, and beer and season with salt and cayenne. Cover with lid, bring to a simmer (med/high)
- Reduce heat and keep at a simmer until melty, about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
